Harry Edelson, Founder and Managing Director, Edelson Technology Partners

Harry Edelson is the Founder and Managing Director of Edelson Technology Partners. He is highly respected in both the technology and financial industries and is one of the most prominent and successful venture capitalists on the East Coast. Harry had a distinguished career as an investment manager, venture capitalist, securities analyst and engineer. In his investing career, 11 of his early stage investments attained valuations of $1BN to $80BN. For the decade that he worked on Wall Street, he was the most quoted securities analyst in the world. While on Wall Street he did 60 consulting assignments for a wide variety of technology companies and was one of the first to manage a hedge fund. Harry has served on 80 boards, 12 as chairman. He is a Past President and current member of the Analyst Club, oldest surviving club on Wall Street. Harry holds a B.S. in Physics from Brooklyn College and an MBA in Management from New York University. He is also a proud war veteran, having served in the U.S. Army Signal Corps.


Mark A. Herschberg, CTO, MadisonLogic

Educated at MIT (with degrees in physics, EE/CS, and a masters in cryptography) Mark has spent his career launching and fixing new ventures at startups, Fortune 100s, and academia.  Mark has worked at and consulted to number startups typically taking on roles in general management, operations, and technology.  He has been involved from inception and fundraising through growth and sale of the company.  These startup companies have included a wireless application platform, online advertising, lead generation, OLAP, and new language development.  Mark was instrumental in launching ServiceLive.com Sears online home services labor market; he also helped fix NBCs online video marketplace (now Hulu.com).  In academia Mark spent a year at HBS working with two finance professors to create the upTick system now used to teach finance at many of the top business schools. At MIT Mark helped to start the Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program at which he teaches annually along with his teaching at SUNY Levin Institute. Currently Mark is the CTO of MadisonLogic. In his spare time Mark works with numerous non-profits and was one of the top ranked ballroom dancers in the country.


James P. McCauley, Jr., President & CEO, Income & Asset Advisory, Inc.

James P. McCauley, Jr is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Income & Asset Advisory, Inc. and is also the principal of J.P. McCauley & Co. Ltd. which he founded in 1982. Jim earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology/ Human Relations and an MBA in Finance with honors from Pace University. He has extensive experience in the financial services industry. He began his career in 1974 as a Registered Representative with a large mutual fund company. In 1978, he moved to the Equitable Life Insurance Company having Corporate Pension Investment Sales as his responsibility. In late 1981 he decided to return to individual investments management while continuing to consult and service corporate pension clients. Upon the incorporation of J.P. McCauley & Co. Ltd, in 1982, he focused mostly on servicing a portfolio of approximately two hundred and fifty clients and retirement plans. Jim served in the US Army from 1966 to 1971 as a Captain in US Army Special Forces serving two tours in Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star, three Army Commendation Medals, one for Valor, as well as other medals. He is a past president of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 49, and a member since 1986 and he was also a member of the Veterans Advisory Council at the Montrose VA.


Kunal Mehta, Author, Disruptors

 

Kunal Mehta is a former Investment Banker, author of DISRUPTORS, the founder of OutPatient and a strategy associate at charity: water. For Disruptors, Kunal has spoken with the founders and key business leads of several game-changing companies such as Pinterest, Foursquare, Venture for America, FEED Projects, charity: water and Dwolla to reveal the early failures or heartbreaks entrepreneurs face. Kunal has been invited to speak at over a dozen universities including Stanford, Harvard, Wharton School of Business and Columbia Business School.Kunal was provided with a full-scholarship by J.P. Morgan to attend the NYU Stern School of Business. He gained over 4-years of experience with the Investment Bank at the peak of the recession and worked within the banking industry for another two years after graduating. Kunal is currently working on OutPatient, a mobile venture that will connect patients and doctors through a secure video platform.

 


Ian E Scott, Managing Director, Scott Legal Services, P.C.

Ian E. Scott is a Harvard Law School Graduate, lawyer and author of Law School Lowdown: Secrets of Success from the Application Process to Landing Your First Job. (Barron's Publishing)  Mr. Scott is also a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A.) and obtained his M.B.A from the University of Toronto.  Prior to law school, Mr. Scott worked at an international investment bank (Credit Suisse) in New York structuring business transactions and providing consultation on deal structures.  As an attorney, Mr. Scott worked as a corporate transactional lawyer in the law firm Cleary Gottlieb (a top Wall Street Firm) and is currently the Managing Director of Scott Legal Services, P.C., a law firm specializing in Investor Immigration Visas and New Business set-up.  Mr. Scott has been featured and seen in many publications including; Forbes, Bloomberg, The New York Times, Super Lawyers, The Huffington Post, The American Bar Association, Business Insider, The New York Bar Association, Harvard University, Above the Law, Lexis/Nexis, The Student Appeal Journal,  Lawyerist, & other Journals.  Mr. Scott lives in Manhattan, New York, with his spouse and two lovely daughters.

 


Matthew J. Termine, Associate, Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati

Matthew Termine is an associate in the New York office of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where his practice focuses on representing emerging growth companies at all stages of their life cycle.Prior to joining the firm, Matthew was a corporate associate at Debevoise & Plimpton LLP in New York, where he primarily represented private equity funds and companies in mergers and acquisitions.

 

 

 

 


Christopher Woods, The Blackstone Group

Christopher Woods works in Blackstone’s Hedge Fund Solutions Group (BAAM). Since joining Blackstone in 2009, Mr. Woods has been involved in marketing, product development efforts, and client service operations. Before joining Blackstone, Mr. Woods served as a Captain in the United States Army supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom as a Ranger Engineer Officer. His experiences have had him leading teams in the United States, Middle East, and the Asian theater of operations. Mr. Woods graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a BS in Systems Engineering, and received an MS in Engineering Management from the Missouri University of Science and Technology.
