Dezer Research Fellow

Digital Marketing Manager, Qazoom (CLOSED)

Position Description:

This position is ideal for a business minded student interested in assuming key responsibilities related to online marketing, client acquisition, and channel optimization. A successful candidate will be passionate about working with a team and changing a 150-year-old industry through the use of disruptive technology, marketing and data.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation of marketing campaigns designed to generate new leads, and nurture existing contacts
  • Build automated reports to track and analyze campaign performance
  • Report performance metrics along with explanations to management
  • Approach each campaign with an analytical mindset and suggest changes to major elements such as landing pages, content, emails, ads, and organic search on a rolling basis
  • Strategize and manage growth experiments, learn, and adjust accordingly based on results
  • Write, edit, and optimize marketing content such as blog posts, contribute content, white papers, and webinar outlines
  • Find potential local clients and forward them to one of our sales representatives
  • Evaluate feedback and submit a weekly report on how we can improve our market penetration in the US market

Qualifications:

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills

The candidate will be part of a growing development team in the early stages of building something great from scratch, access to code of a full-scale real-world operating website and learn how to connect design, client side and server side (full-stack).

  • Develop the client side of our website

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in front-end web development (HTML, CSS, JS)

Work hours:10 hours per week

Pay rate:$15 per hour

Position Description:

This position is ideal for a business minded student interested in assuming key responsibilities related to business development, marketing and fund raising. A successful candidate will be passionate about working with a team and developing a completely new industry while overcoming the perception of insects as food.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and follow the USA insect protein market for humans, pets and feed: Competitors, potential strategic partners, pricing strategy, branding and regulation.
  • Build a network of potential business partners, customers and investors.

Dezer Research Fellow – Digital Marketing Associate, Eco-Fusion (CLOSED)

Position Description:

Eco-Fusion develops mobile apps to prevent and manage chronic illnesses.  In your position as digital marketing associate you will be part of our digital team which uses a variety of media and analytics  tools to improve our apps’ engagement, retention & conversion rates.  You will be performing the following duties:

  • Implement digital marketing strategy: Support strategy development, planning, and execution of to increase app revenue, engage constituents, and build brand awareness.
  • Support app engagement: Optimize app properties to enhance user experience and interaction; support SEO efforts and the development of new engagement activities); support paid search campaigns to increase inbound traffic and optimize conversions.
  • Implement email marketing activities:  Activities including routine solicitations, updates, automated drip campaigns (e.g., auto-responders, email welcome series), and monthly newsletters while segmenting constituents to optimize engagement.
  • Social media community management: Maintain appropriate voice, tone and levels of engagement in the implementation of Eco-Fusion’s social media strategy across all channels.
  • Collect and analyze online & in-App data: Develop and maintain monthly online revenue and engagement dashboards; monitor web traffic data using Google Analytics and SEO tools.

Dezer Technical Fellow (1 position)

The selected candidate will provide technical expertise to the participating companies, which includes, but is not limited to: website design, photo/video editing, creation of digital collateral, etc.  The candidate will present completed work to company representatives through demonstrations, presentations, and prototypes.  The candidate will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, but with an appropriate amount of access to ask questions and gain insight into the company and industry.  

Responsibilities:

  • Develop digital collateral (marketing, logos, packaging, etc.) for product design or marketing
  • Build websites or social media pages to promote the company, brand, or products
  • Edit photos and video for use in advertising or educational material
  • Collaborate with other fellows to ensure research and event planning has the proper marketing and presentation collateral

Qualifications:

  • Open to all current Pace Students in good standing with the University.
  • Preferred Majors Include: Computer Science, Information Systems, and Software Development and Engineering.  Those candidates with related professional experience will also be considered.

Dezer Event Fellow (1 position):

The candidate chosen for this position will take a leadership role in managing various on and off campus events that will include networking, panel discussions, industry insight, etc.  The fellow will be expected to meet periodically with the leadership of the partner companies and the Pace eLab to gather input for various events related to the grant and subsequent outcomes.  This individual will take the lead in brainstorming formats that will best optimize budget resources while maximizing the exposure of the benefits achieved through the Dezer grant.  Lastly, the candidate will coordinate with various vendors, the University, and media outlets in order to plan, execute, and publicize the events.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a schedule of events in coordination with partner companies and eLab leadership
  • Plan events in line with budget and purpose so as to maximize effectiveness
  • Coordinate communication between companies, eLab, vendors, and University resources
  • Develop marketing campaigns and circulate collateral via various media outlets
  • Drive attendance and manage event agendas with participants
  • Create an outcomes package that will demonstrate the positive results of the Dezer grant

BioGenCell Research Fellow (1 position):

Under the direction of BioGenCell leadership the Graduate Research Fellows will complete various research and business development projects that will focus on gathering information on present companies in the field of stem cell research and analyzing the product's expected market.  The candidate will provide requested research on a periodic basis to company representatives through written summaries, presentations, and various analytical packages.  The candidate will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, but with an appropriate amount of access to ask questions and gain insight into the company and industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete competitive analyses
  • Research industry norms for: raising capital, company burn rates, and M&A and L&A activity
  • Support the valuation process through research and analysis
  • Collect data pertaining to regulatory pathways and timing
  • Execute Market Research, which will include:
    • Potential customers – disease prevalence and incidence
    • Private and public reimbursement rates
    • Market segmentation and channels
    • Distribution methods for existing and emerging therapies

FreshBiz Research Fellow (2 positions):

Under the direction of FreshBiz leadership the Graduate Research Fellows will assist with various aspects of market research and product development.  Key responsibilities will include completing research into "smart games" and their use in the workplace, as well as researching entrepreneurship education and the benefits of the FreshBiz game itself.  The candidate will provide requested research on a periodic basis to company representatives through written summaries, presentations, and study write-ups.  The candidate will be expected to work with a high degree of autonomy, but with an appropriate amount of access to ask questions and gain insight into the company and industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Market research on "Smart Games" and the use of game based learning in the workplace.
  • Explore the use of games in the entrepreneurship education market. This would include corporate training, small business initiatives and use by individuals, as well as traditional academic applications.
  • Conduct hands-on market research on the impact of using the FreshBiz Game and 'The New Entrepreneurz' book with a variety of test subjects. 
  • Monitor the research process, including some of the sessions, and pose questions to the participants on the insights and resultants they got from each session.
