Prof. Bruce Bachenheimer will facilitate an exciting panel discussion on how to grow your start-up. When and how should you scale your start-up? What are the challenges of scaling quickly? How do you sustain growth? Meet and hear from successful entrepreneurs and industry experts who will share their experiences and recommendations.

Bruce Bachenheimer, Executive Director, Entrepreneurship Lab at Pace University

Bruce Bachenheimer is a Clinical Professor of Management and Executive Director of the Entrepreneurship Lab at Pace University. He is an Emeritus Board Member and past Chair of the New York City Chapter of the MIT Enterprise Forum and has served on the organization’s Global Board. He has been widely quoted in a variety of domestic and international publications, interviewed on radio and television and has spoken on entrepreneurship at numerous organizations, including the United Nations and U.S. Department of State. He began his career in investment banking and worked for global corporations and new ventures, conducting business in over two dozen countries. He founded Annapolis Maritime Corp. and Co-Founded StockCentral Australia.

Matt Lovett, Founder & CEO, Oz Content Technologies, Inc.

Matt is a serial entrepreneur in the advertising and marketing tech industry. Currently, he is the founder and CEO of Oz Content, a venture-backed software company which licenses Content Ideation software to B2B Content Marketers. Oz uses a combination of predictive analytics and AI to help its customers predict performance, validate demand, and create content ideas prior running content marketing campaigns. Prior to founding Oz Content, he founded a digital advertising agency in Shanghai, Pop Sigma, which he grew to several million in revenue with brands including Johnny Walker (Diageo), McDonald’s, and Goodyear Tires. Prior to that, he worked in several other venture-backed startups in the marketing and ad tech spaces in China. Matt lives and works in lower Manhattan, New York City, generally commutes to work on a skateboard, and is an active runner and surfer. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago.

 

 

 

Peter Thurlow, Shareholder, Polsinelli, PC

Peter Thurlow is a patent lawyer, focused on presenting strategies to help protect inventors, small businesses, and multinational corporations’ intellectual property rights. Peter’s practice involves the full spectrum of patent law. Peter is the current First Vice President of the New York Intellectual Property Law Association (NYIPLA), the primary intellectual property law association in New York with more than 1,250 members. Based on Pete's extensive experience working on matters at the USPTO, he received a second three-year term starting in January 2016 from the U.S. Secretary of Commerce to serve on the USPTO's Patent Public Advisory Committee (PPAC). The PPAC includes nine experienced patent practitioners that advise the Undersecretary of Commerce and Director of the USPTO on USPTO patent policies and procedures. Each of the nine PPAC members chair one PPAC subcommittee. Based on Pete's significant experience on USPTO post-grant matters, Peter chairs the USPTO's PTAB subcommittee. The PPAC provides an annual report to the White House,U.S. Commerce Department, House and Senate Judiciary Committees, and the USPTO.

Seth holds a Master of Science Degree from Brown University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of California.
